What Would You Do If You Got This Message?
This message was sent by (alias) “Hitman Scam.” It appears that many people have received this message, and they are rightfully concerned.
“Hitman” tells email recipients that he has the needed information to track them down. He then demands $7,000 to spare their lives.
Here’s how the email reads”
“My duty, as I am mailing you now, is just to kill you, and I have to do it as I have already been paid for that,” it reads. “Now do you want to live or die? As somebody has paid us to kill you. Get back to me now if you are ready to pay some fees to spare your life.”
Although this seems like a scam, one never knows. — But, never fear. Internet security experts report that this is a hoax, and is being delivered to random recipients. The message has been circulating since 2006.
What would you do if you received this message?
If you receive this, or similar emails, don’t reply! If you do, you may be harassed in the future. Alert your Internet Service Provider about the email, and they will forward it on to the authorities.
